four items needed for easy glowing skinIntroduction to Easy Glowing Skin

Welcome to this post on easy glowing skin. Skincare isn’t usually a priority for chronically ill people who are housebound or bedbound. There is pain and other symptoms to deal with, plus medications and doctor’s appointments. Who has the energy for an involved routine? Never mind a trip to a facialist! But looking good can really help us to feel better. So, we decided to create a routine to help skin glow without you needing to even leave your bed. It’s made up of 2 parts; a supplement to give you a natural glow from within and a 3-part skincare routine to boost radiance.

Healthy glowing skin starts from within. Diet is obviously important, but the body’s hormonal fluctuations also play a role. PMS symptoms often come bundled with breakouts, but help is at hand if you know which ingredients to look for. I’m a big fan of the Complete Me Let’s Glow supplement. These award winning, UK-made supplements are create by a Nutritional Therapist. Let’s Glow contains B6 (balances hormones), Zinc and Vitamin A (skin maintenance and healing), Green tea (reduces inflammation), Psyllium husk (source of fibre which helps the body get rid of excess hormones) and Chromium (regulates hormones, blood sugar and appetite).

I’ve been using it for a month and have already seen a significant improvement in my skin (no monthly breakout!). I also noticed I didn’t get the usual level of bloating and constipation, so this supplement is a winner for me. For more information about how it works and it’s benefits, scroll down for a video from Complete Me’s nutritionist. Let’s Glow is vegan and free from gluten, lactose, eggs, fish, peanuts and any artificial colours and preservatives. A bottle of 30 capsules costs £14.99 (save 15% and free shipping when you buy 3 or more supplements).

3 Step Easy Glowing Skin Facial

Once you’ve nourished your skin from within, it’s time to take care of the skin’s surface. This easy 3 step routine can be done from bed as there is no rinsing required. All of the products also come in small sizes so no heavy lifting for energy depleted spoonies!

step 1 vinoclean cleansing milkStep 1 – Cleanse with Caudalie Vinoclean Cleansing Almond Milk

This cleanser is made from vegan-friendly almond milk and is suitable for sensitive skin types. It’s great for gently cleansing and  leaving skin feeling supple and purified. It also comes in a handy pump action bottle to easily dispense the correct amount.

To use: place three pumps of cleansing milk into the palm of your hand or on a cotton pad and apply to dry skin. Massage in circular movements over your face and neck. Remove any excess product using a cotton pad. A 100ml bottle costs £9.

step 2 tone and exfoliate with pixi glow tonicStep 2 – Tone and Exfoliate with Pixi Glow Tonic

Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner that exfoliates and purifies to promote smoother-looking, radiant and clarified skin. It contains 5% Glycolic Acid and a blend of Aloe Vera, Ginseng and botanical extracts which eliminate excess oil and impurities to leave pores looking refined and skin’s texture smooth and radiant. If you’ve not used a product with glycolic acid before do a patch test first.

To use: saturate a cotton pad with the tonic and sweep across face, neck, and décolletage after cleansing, avoiding eye area. Can be used both morning and evening and is suitable for all skin types. A 100ml bottle costs £10.

avant maskStep 3 – Avant Skincare Harmonious Rose Quartz Revitalising and Firming Mask

A no-rinse moisturising mask is the ideal way to finish a relaxing facial. This Avant mask is balancing and purifying, so leaves skin with a brighter, healthier-looking glow. Rose Extract has natural exfoliating properties, Hyaluronic Acid locks in moisture to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and sagginess. Sweet Almond Oil delivers Vitamin E, which is rich in antioxidants and prevents damage from harmful external aggressors and UV rays.

To use: warm a pea-sized amount between your fingertips, spreading across the palms and your fingers. Apply to the face, spreading all over the skin with your fingertips, using upwards motions until the product has partially absorbed into the skin. Using flat fingers, follow the neck contour and jawline, massage the face with sweeping and lifting motions. Use alternate hands and sweep upwards to the jawline moving slowly from left to the right. A 50ml tube/jar costs around £59. This is quite an expensive mask but a little goes a long way, it’s super moisturising and it smells lovely!

If you’re looking for a more budget friendly buy, you might like a moisturising sheet mask instead. These are single use and there many available including Garnier Moisture Bomb £3, or VICHY Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid £8.

This is great! I normally don’t bother as it’s just too much effort. I did love a facial before I got sick though so I think this would be a great way to have some self care and boost my self esteem too!

Healthy, beautiful skin begins on the inside. Diet is clearly vital, but hormonal swings in the body also play a part.

I’ve been looking for something like this for a friend as I wanted to give her a facial but she’s bed bound. I think she’d love it. The supplement sounds really good too, might get that for myself as well.
